Catechesis aims "to put people not only in touch, but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ" (National Directory for Catechesis, 55) The catechists in our religious education program here at St Anthony's provide a real 'encounter with the living Christ' for our children, grades kindergarten-eighth grade. Unconditional love and acceptance are counter-cultural in today's society. That makes the beliefs and moral guidelines that we teach even more important in the formation of our chiildren. The care and acceptance our catechists give to all children teaches them that the Church is where you go to find love, support and forgiveness. The children meet every other week for classes from Sept-April. Children receiving the sacraments of reconciliation and First Holy Communion meet weekly.
